The Gamedev Incremental Game
This game was made for the New Years Incremental Game Jam 2026. I didn't attempt the bonus challenge.
Intended to be played on a laptop (Chrome and Safari seem to run it best, Firefox does not unless you mess with the settings a little), but can also be played on touch devices (you will need to hold over the upgrades to see the info about them, though).
Content warning: gets a tad dark at some points but there's nothing gory or shocking.
I struggled a bit with the balacing because I didn't want the game to be too long, so I am a little curious what the least amount of games to reach 50 comments is.
How it relates to the theme "Inception":
The inception of something can be the beginning of an activity (like developing a game), and I thought it would be kind of inception-y (like the movie) if I developed a game about developing games and the characters in the game made a game about developing games. You get the idea :p

God I felt that in my soul. Nice work, great portrayal of the process. its so hard to keep going and it means a lot to know others are going through the same thing.
P.S I am sad the cat didn't come back :(
